Our Story

JEG Development Corp 1994
JEG Development Corporation was founded by its namesake Jose E. Garcia in 1994. For nine years, the company served and functioned primarily as a holdings company for his business interest. In August 2003, the company changed from being a purely legal entity to a staffed and independently-operating corporation.
Blue Garden 2004
The company’s first venture in to the real estate industry was the construction of Blue Garden in Fulton Street, Lahug in 2004. It was a mixed-use development which featured 3 commercial spaces, 3 townhouses, 10 studios, and a bachelor unit. Blue Garden was sold on to a private buyer in 2011.
One Acacia 2005
The second project was the development of an empty lot at the corner of Acacia Street and Archbishop Reyes Avenue. One Acacia Place became one of the pioneering strip concept malls in Cebu City. This iconic commercial establishment was designed by Architect Ed Gallego. One Acia Place remained to be fully occupied until it closed down in January 2017 to make way for JDC’s first high-rise project—JEG Tower @ One Acacia.
The Gallery 2007
The Gallery is perhaps JDC’s best known property development in Cebu City. This mall strip located at St. John Paull II Avenue, formerly known as Juan Luna Avenue. Since its construction and completion in 2007-2008, it has become an entertainment landmark for diners and shoppers. This was also the first real estate project done in partnership with Mai-l Resources Corporation and Architect Rene Ybañez.
Tomodachi 2013
More recently, JDC Tomodachi Inc. developed 14 townhouses in Talamaban, Cebu. The company collaborated again with Architect Rene Ybañez to design a living environment inspired by the Japanese standards. Each two-storey unit measures a total of 120 square meters in size, with two bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms. Tomodachi Premium Residences entered the rental market in 2013.
JEG Tower 2021
JEG Tower @ One Acacia boasts of its efficient quality in design and construction. LEED-certified buildings use less water and energy and emit less greenhouse gases. As a friend to the environment, JDC is able to accomplish their commitment to the Cebuanos by constructing a state-of-the-art facility that utilizes 100% back-up power with 24/7 capability and VRF air conditioning.
